The Certified LeSS for Executives course is especially for people in management roles, considering or already supporting a LeSS effort.
Since change towards LeSS involves both,
Product Management and R&D (or better “business” and “IT”) together, senior level representatives of both groups
will want to attend together.
Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS) is a framework for scaling agile product development to mutiple teams. LeSS builds on top of the Scrum principles, such as empiricism, cross-functional self-managing teams. It provides simple structural rules and guidelines on how to adopt Scrum in large product development.
LeSS is to the organization, what Scrum is to the team: a simple, powerful, large-scale product development framework, designed to evolve within any unique organizational context.
The LeSS for Executives course provides lots of concrete examples – from our experiences in larger and smaller companies. Participants will practice a lot with Systems Modelling and apply Innovation Games. This way we maximize learning and confidence for concrete implementation.
Note: Basic Scrum knowledge is expected and can be achieved by attending any of our Certified Scrum Master courses, or thoroughly reading Scrum introduction material, such as the Scrum Primer or the official Scrum Guide, and of course by practicing Scrum.
This is an in-depth course, covering everything executives and senior managers need to know about LeSS for becoming aware of, what to do and how to help.
The following key topics are covered in the 2-day course:
- Why LeSS? Benefits to your company?
- Systems thinking, organizational design and the contract game
- Adopting LeSS in your organization
- What is your product? A LeSS perspective.
- Organizing around Customer Value and Feature Teams
- Business driven Product Owner and Product Backlog
- Role of Management
- Typical LeSS organizational structure
- Multisite and Sourcing Implications
